This unique wood cutting board is made from 1-1/4 inch solid end-grain walnut,  purpleheart, and cherry. The difference between end-grain boards and regular cutting boards lies in the strength. The end grain is the hardest surface on a piece of wood, so this results in lasting durability and resistance to splitting. Then a food safe mineral oil is applied to the board. 

Personally, we are a little afraid to do any heavy-duty cutting on it since the wood is so beautiful
Please take caution and hand-wash only. Because wood is porous, I strongly recommend not cutting raw and uncured meat on the board for health purposes. I'm not an expert when it comes to this but I wouldn't personally advise it, however if you do wish to use it in this way, I take no fault.
